1John Brodie, Watershed Coordinator: John's interest in watershed issues comes from his love of fishing. He is a founding member and one of the first officers of the Ohio Smallmouth (bass) Alliance, an anglers' group formed to address habitat conservation issues in Ohio. After several years as a journalist, including a specialization in environmental reporting, he became the first staff writer for The Nature Conservancy's Ohio Chapter. John moved to California in 2000 when his wife Carol accepted a position at the University of the Pacific. He is now learning how to fish for anadromous species, and is enjoying working on water quality issues from a watershed perspective. He is the author of the Mokelumne River Watershed Owner's Manual.
